Joseph was born and raised in Oxford, then moved to London to train as an actor at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA) and has since worked for, amongst others, the Royal Shakespeare Company, Chichester Festival Theatre, the BBC, and ITV.
At school he developed a passion for literature, especially Shakespeare and poetry, and is thrilled to be able to pass that onto children. As the child of two teachers, he developed the skill early on, and was running workshops as a teenager. His experience working with children includes teaching in groups and one-to-one, and working with children with SEN.
He is a grade eight violinist and played with the Oxfordshire County Youth Orchestra in the Royal Albert Hall. Nowadays he enjoys playing and teaching a wide range of styles, from classical to folk to jazz. He also plays the guitar and banjo.
